Viola boissieuana Makino var. pseudoselkirkii (Nakai) Yahara
Family: ViolaceaeJapanese: ヤクシマミヤマスミレ (屋久島深山菫) [Yakushima Miyama Sumeré]
This endemic variety of Viola boissieuana violets grows at middle altitudes. It is noted for it's heart-shaped leaves. Look for them in sunny locations along sprintime trails.
